As I child traveling with my parents in the Pacific Northwest, I had the first opportunity to see Native American totems. Since that time the cultural symbolism of totems has fascinated me.
Throughout human history, totems have been a communication tool identifying a specific tribe or group of people. In the development of my totems, a basic traditional design structure is maintained. Within that form, I develop a more personal symbolic arrangement of forms and surfaces to create these unique tributes to human culture.
